20in x 18in Maple bass drum, 10in x 10in Maple Tom, 12in x 12in Maple tom/floor and 14in x 14in Maple floor tom.
3 Tom arms included.
This kit uses Keller maple shells and all metal parts were hand made by Don Sleishman in Australia.
This is one of the very early historic Sleishman kits made in the early 90's and this would have cost around $4000 when new.
The Different Drum: The patented suspension system truly brings drum shells to life and it completely separates their drums from any other available today.
It would be safe to say that this system is the reason they are in business! Take an empty drinking glass, tap it and listen to its sustain. Then, lightly hold the glass and tap it again…a very different sound. You’ve killed the natural sustain of the glass.This simple exercise actually demonstrates the physical impact lugs and bolted fittings have on any given drum shell. Without the restrictions placed on it by sometimes more than twenty bolted fittings, the drum shell can now resonate to its full potential.
Obviously, this is going to give you much more sustain in note length, increased volume levels (which in turn gives you more control over the instrument), and another benefit of Sleishmans system is a massive amount of tone.
In short, Sleishman Drums work at a far greater efficiency level than any other drum on the market.
Another major benefit of the Sleishman suspension system is that you can change your shell type at any time!
Provided it is the same size as your system, you can go from maple to birch, Bubinga to jarrah- or any shell type for that matter, just by removing the top drum head.
As the shell is floating free between the heads, it just lifts out allowing another shell to take its place instantly. Then, all you do is replace the top drum head, tune the drum to where you like and off you go with a brand new sound!
It would be accurate to say that Sleishmans truly sound like no other kit and have one of the best sounds in the drum industry today.
