K Zildjian & Co. Istanbul '59-'66 18in Ride/Crash
Handmade in Istanbul, Turkey by the K Zildjian company, with a '59-'66 era stamp.
Weight is 1706 grams.
Ideal for jazz, big band, soul, funk and darker rock styles!
It has a lively, clear, dark K ride character and opens up warmly with an excellent, dark wash with a clear, dark stick sound. The crash is warm and dark with plenty of volume, and the big bell is loud, strong, dark, pure and very classic vintage Zildjian-sounding! Suits studio and live.
There is a crack on the bell, which measures about 1.5cm. I've had this cymbal for about 15 years; the crack has not spread in that time, and is not likely to spread if you play the cymbal the way it was designed to be played! You cannot hear the crack, and it has not changed the sound of the cymbal.
